_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
*CONDITIONS FOR A SOUND TRANSACTION.*
4. *The religion of the Trader.*
It is obligatory upon the trader to take good care of his religion and the religion of his relatives and families.
He should not preoccupy himself completely with the worldly affairs. Rather, his deen should be given great importance before his worldly life.
Thus, in order for a trader to be able to have great concern about his religion, he is encouraged to fulfill the following recommendations:
*I.* Good intention in the business. He should aim with his business to achieve self content and avoid depending on people. And to also take care of his families and to give out charity to those who are in need amongst the Muslims.
*ii.* He should aim with his business as a goal to fulfill what Has been made obligatory by the sharia. For if trade is not practiced by anyone, living will be difficult for people.
*iii.* He should not allow his business to distract him from his Hereafter. He should divide his time accordingly and devout most of his time towards the life to come. For the past predecessors used most of their time for their Hereafter and used little for dunya matters.
*iv.* He should incessantly stick to the remembrance of Allah in the market.
*v.* He should not be greedy towards the business to the extent that he will be the first to reach the market and the last to depart from it.
*Vi.* He should safeguard himself from Haram in his business. In fact, he should shun away any transaction that is not clear to him.
