_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
*THE ADAAB OF FRIENDSHIP AND BROTHERHOOD.*
Know verily that, whosoever love for the sake of Allah will surely hate for His sake. When one love another person because he obeys Allah, it is incumbent to also hate him (for his bad action) when he disobeys the commandments of Allāh.
It is wājib for one to love a Muslim for his being as such and to hate him when he disobeys Allāh. But whosoever repents from his sin and the sin is not apparent to people, it is wājib for one to overlook it and cover it for him.
However, if the Muslim persist on the sin, in this case, it is wājib to hate him apparently for his bad action and to be far from him depending on the situation.
