_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
*SECLUSION.*
The evidences of the ulamaa that preferred seclusion compared to mixing or relating with people are;
It is reported in the Sahihayn(Al Bukhārī#2787, Muslim#1888) from the hadith of Abu saheed who said: It was said to the Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu àlayhi wasallam, who is the best of people? The messenger Sallallāhu àlayhi wasallam said:
_”رجل يجاهد بنفسه وماله، ورجل في شعب من الشعاب يعبد ربه ويدع الناس من شره”_
_” A man who makes Jihad with his soul and wealth(in the path of Allāh), and a man who secludes himself in a mountain worshipping His Lord and sparing the people from his harm.”_
In another Hadith, Úqubatu Ibn Āmir radiyallāhu anhu said:
” I asked the Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu àlayhi wasallam what is salvation?
The Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu àlayhi wasallam said:
_”أملك عليك لسانك، وليسعك، وابك على خطيئتك”_
_”Have control over your tongue, stick to your house, and regret on your sins. “_
Transmitted and recorded by Imām At-Tirmidhi in his ‘Sunan'(7/87). Shaykh Al Albāni declared it as Hasan in ‘Assilsilatu Assahīhah’#890.
And lastly, Úmar radiyallāhu anhu said:
_”خذوا بحظكم من العزلة”_
_”Take your prosperity from seclusion. “_
