📬 DAILY POST#433

_Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullāh-_
Said:

*WAYS THAT LEADS TO ANGER AND ITS REMEDIES.*

Know verily – may the blessing of Allāh Ta’āla be upon you – that, the best way to treat the diseases of the heart is to get rid of the ways that leads to them.

Amongst the asbāb of anger are pride, jesting, unnecessary argument, contradicting one another without any tangible reason, unfaithfulness or cheating, covetousness for wealth and position, All these aforementioned characters are blameworthy behaviors and one is highly recommended to desist from them all.

Thus, it is beloved and encouraged that, one should endeavor to oppose each of these bad characters with its opposite, therefore, one should struggle to cut the means that might to lead anger.

However, whenever the anger aroused, one should cure it by doing the following things:

*1.* One should ponder on those verses that talks about controlling one’s anger and the reward for those that control their anger.

*2.* One should try to overlook, forgive, and bear with others regarding where they may have wronged one unknowingly.

In this context, it is reported from Ibn Abbas – radiyallāhu anhumah -who said:

_Uyaina bin Hisn bin Hudhaifa came and stayed with his nephew Al-Hurr Ibn Qais who was one of those whom Umar radiyallāhu anhu used to keep near him, as the Qurra’ were the people of Umar’s meetings and his advisors whether they were old or young. ‘Uyaina said to his nephew, “O son of my brother! You have an approach to this Amīr, so get for me the permission to see him.” Al-Hurr said, “I will get the permission for you to see him.” So Al-Hurr asked the permission for ‘Uyaina and Umar admitted him. When ‘Uyaina entered upon him, he said, “Beware! O the son of Al-Khattab! By Allah, you neither give us sufficient provision nor judge amongst us with justice.” Thereupon Umar became so furious that he intended to harm him, but Al-Hurr said, “Oh Amīru Al-Mu’minīn, verily Allah Azzawajal said to His Prophet sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam: “Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; and leave the foolish ones.(Al-A’rāf:199). And this man is amongst the foolish ones, by Allah, `Umar radiyallāhu anhu did not overlook that Verse when Al-Hurr recited it before him. Rather, he sticks to the orders of Allah’s Book strictly._

Transmitted by Imām Al-Bukhārī in his ‘Sahih’#4642.

*3.* One should fear for oneself the punishment of Allāh Azzawajal during the anger.
