_Imām Ibn Qudāmah -rahimahullāh-_
Said:
In addition, the way that being moderate in seeking for wealth is something that is recommended and beloved for a praiseworthy person, likewise, status should be moderately suits.
And this is what prophet Yusuf ‘alayhissalam suits for when he says:
_قَالَ اجْعَلْنِي عَلَىٰ خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ إِنِّي حَفِيظٌ عَلِيمٌ._
_He said: Put me (in authority) over the treasures of the land, verily, I am a good keeper, knowing well._
Suratu Yusuf, verse 55.
Though, we will not say that status becomes Haram when it is high and much suited except when it leads one into what is not permissible like that of wealth and its setbacks when it is much.
However, having high status and prestige in the heart of others without seeking for it nor being upset when it seized to exist, then, there is no harm nor blame in this case, for there is no status that is more than that of the Rasūl salallāhu ālayhi wasallam and pious ulama after Him.
But for one to focus one’s aim and energy to seek for prestige is a sign of deficiency in one’s deen, though it is not classified as Haram.
For instance, wearing a beautiful cloth when going out to meet others, no doubt, it is mainly done for them to see and accredit it, likewise any decoration that is done for them cannot be tagged as forbidden.
Though, people have different objectives regarding their actions, but majority of the people loves not to be belittled in every circumstances.
In this regard, it is reported from
‘Abdullah Ibn Radiyallāhu anhu who said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
_“ ﻻ ﻳﺪﺧﻞ ﺍﻟﺠﻨﺔ ﻣﻦ ﻛﺎﻥ ﻓﻲ ﻗﻠﺒﻪ ﻣﺜﻘﺎﻝ ﺫﺭﺓ ﻣﻦ ﻛﺒﺮ ” ﻓﻘﺎﻝ ﺭﺟﻞ ” ﺇﻥ ﺍﻟﺮﺟﻞ ﻳﺤﺐ ﺃﻥ ﻳﻜﻮﻥ ﺛﻮﺑﻪ ﺣﺴﻨﺎً ﻭﻧﻌﻠﻪ ﺣﺴﻨﺎً؟ ﻗﺎﻝ : “ ﺇﻥ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺟﻤﻴﻞ ﻳﺤﺐ ﺍﻟﺠﻤﺎﻝ ﺍﻟﻜﺒﺮ ﺑﻄﺮ ﺍﻟﺤﻖ ﻭﻏﻤﻂ ﺍﻟﻨﺎﺱ ” ﺭﻭﺍﻩ ﻣﺴﻠﻢ._
_”He who has in his heart an ant’s weight of arrogance will not enter Jannah.” Someone said: “A man likes to wear beautiful clothes and shoes?” The Rasūl(ﷺ ) then said, “Allah is Beautiful, He loves beauty. Arrogance means ridiculing and rejecting the Truth and despising people.”_

For this, there are people who loves to show the blessings that Allāh Has bestowed upon them, and the Rasūl salallāhu Has been commanded to do so.
