Worshippers: The Rich Ones

📬 DAILY POST#532

_Imām Ibn Qudāmah -rahimahullāh-_
Said:

*4) The Rich Ones.*

Amongst them are those who are too meticulous and keen on building Masājid, Al-Madāris, and the likes which can be easily noticed and seen by others. And they will not be shy of writing their names boldly on those buildings so that their names may be remembered after their worldly life.

However, if one of them is encouraged and advised to spend his money on constructing those buildings without naming it after him, that would have aggrieved him.

But if his action was truly for the sake of Allāh not for showoff, then that should not bother him. For Allāh is aware of his good deeds whether he named the place after himself or not.

Amongst them are those who spent their wealth in decorating and beautifying Masājid with all sorts of designs which are forbidden because they distract the person praying thereby losing the full sakīnah in Salah.

And if the money spent in such constructions are gotten from harām source, then it’s even worse in terms of deception.

Mālik Ibn Dinār was reported to have said:

_A man came to the Masjid, then he stood in front of the entrance of the Masjid and he said: The like of me doesn’t suppose to enter the House of Allāh due to my grievous acts, due to that, he was written amongst the siddīqīn._

Thus, this is how one suppose to confer honor upon the Masājid. It is for one to see the staining of the masjid with one’s entrance as a form of crime upon the masjid, not for one to only view the defilement of masjid with harām or the adornment of the dunya.

Thus, the deception of this person is from the point that he sees the munkar as something good.

Allāhu A’alam! Bārakallāhu fīkum!
