Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi-rahimahullāh-
Said:
The Death of ‘Aliyy Ibn Abī Tālib Radiyallāhu anhu.
It was reported from Ash-sha’bī who said:
When ‘Aliyy Radiyallāhu anhu was stabbed, he asked: what have you done to my assaulter? They said: we arrested him. He said: feed him from my food and give him water, if I live, I will see to his matter, but if I die, just smite him once and don’t increase more than that. He then said: when you are taking me to the grave, walk in a moderate manner, if it is good, you will hasten me for it, otherwise, you will be relieved of my burden.
Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
