Learning which Benefits.

Oh beloved son, your learning and the thousands books you gathered shall be of no helped except by practising what they entail. Through that, they shall be a form of blessings and Mercy of Allāh Ta’āla upon you.

In this context, Allāh Ta’āla says:

And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for-

Sūratu An-Najm, Verse 39.

Allāh Ta’āla says:

Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your god is one Allāh, therefore whoever hopes to meet his Lord, he should do good deeds, and not join any one in the service of his Lord.

Sūratu Al-Kahf, Verse 110.

He Says:

Therefore they shall laugh little and weep much as a recompense for what they earned.

Sūratu At-Tawbah, Verse 82.

He says:

Surely (as for) those who believe and do good deeds, their place of entertainment shall be the gardens of paradise,

Sūratu Al-Kahf, Verse 107.

Allāh Ta’āla says:

Except him who repents and believes and does a good deed; so these are they of whom Allah changes the evil deeds to good ones; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Sūratu Al-Furqan, Verse 70.

Oh beloved Son, the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam said:

Islām is based on five principles: To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allāh and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allāh, To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly, To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity), To perform Hajj, To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.

Transmitted by Imām Al-Bukhārī#8 and Imām Muslim#16.

Al-Īmān is to alter the Shahādah with the tongue, to testify to it with the heart and to work with the Arkān.

The evidences which point to this effect are countless, though a servant can only attain Jannah with the virtue of Allāh Ta’āla and His Mercy. Despite that, a servant needs to prepare by performing righteousness and ibādat since the mercy of Allāh is near to those who do good to others.

However, if it may be argued that: it is possible for a servant to attain Jannah with just his Imān.

We say: Yes, but when is he going to reach his target? How many hitches await him before reaching his target?

The first of those hitches is that of Īmān: is he going to escape with his Imān full intact or died without Imān? And on reaching, he may not have much provisions.

In this regard, Al-Hasan Al-Basarī Rahimahullāhu was reported to have said:

Allāh will say to His beloved servants on the Day of Resurrection: Enter Jannah oh my servants with my Mercy but take your share according to your deeds.

Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
