بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم.
In the Name of Allāh, the Beneficent, The Merciful.
SHAR’H.
The Shaykh started the poem with Basmalah in order to seek the assistance of Allāh ‘Azzawajal because help comes from Allāh alone and Allāh is the most Merciful of the Merciful ones.
Meaning, in the Name of Allāh Ta’āla I will read. The word Name of Allāh, encompasses all the beautiful Names of Allāh. He is best to be unified with Ibādat not any other deities. Also, the Rahmah of Allāh Ta’āla covers all living things in this Dunya, both sinners and good doers, Muslims and the Kuffār.
In addition, for a servant to attain Tawfīq and Sadad, he needs to pray to Allāh for blessings and assistance.
Hence, we are commanded to start with Basmalah whenever we want to recite the glorious Qur’ān and also to thread the path of the Rasūl Salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam for He used to start His treatises with Basmalah.
Because of this Reasons, the pious Salaf used to start their writings with Basmalah especially when it is just a treatise even though some ulama consider that books also take the ruling of treatises not like khutubah that is normally open with Hamdalah and sending blessings upon the Rasūl Salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam.
Beloved ones, practise this Sunnah of starting everything with Basmalah and seeking assistance from Allāh even as simple as amending your shoes. Encourage your closed ones to do same.
Remember that, If Allāh assists you, then there is none that can overcome you, and if He forsakes you, who is there then, that can assist you besides Him?
Then, shouldn’t you rely solely on Allāh regarding your affairs?
Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
20th Shawwal, 1441H.
