Repentance and Forgiveness

📬 DAILY POST#775

Imām Abū ‘Abdullah Muhammad bn Abī Bakr bn Ayyub Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah
said:

And what we think about this statement – Allāh knows best – is that the statement refers to some people that Allāh knew that they will not leave their religion, rather they will pass away in the state of islām. And that they might commit some sins like others, but Allāh would not leave them to persist in those sins, but He will give them ability to make a sincere repentance, and forgive them thereof.

And this doesn’t mean that they should stop performing obligatory duties because of having been forgiven, and if that had happened without such obligatory duties, they would not have needed to pray nor fast nor perform Hajj, pay zakat or do jihad.

And this is never feasible.

Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
