Know that, those things that come out of the earth are not better than the earth itself. In fact, Allāh placed the earth as though a subservient camel that can be ride by anyone, and the best way to explain its path is what we have mentioned of its subservience, the walker treads on it’s path which is the highest point.
That’s why the word manakib has been explained as though a mountain like the shoulders of a human being. Some said: that means walking on its plains is made easier. Another people said: the word manākib means: areas and sides, like the sides of man.
In summary, what’s meant by manākib is the raised parts of the earth which animals walk on and it’s the highest part of the earth apart from the outside of the ball which is it’s surface and walking takes place here, and the best explanation for the manākib which its attributed has proceeded is the word subservient.
