بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-
Said:
Know verily that, every action of Hajj comprises a lesson to the people of sound minds. Among them are;
1.He should remember that the Hereafter needs more provision and preparation compared to the preparation that he made for Hajj. And the best provision for Hereafter is Taqwah(piety).
2. He should beware in case his deeds get nullified due to showing off and hypocrisy.
3. When the pilgrim departs his homeland, let him remember his departure of this world to the Hereafter.
4. When the pilgrim puts off his normal clothes and wears the clothes of Iharm, he should quickly remember the shroud in which he will be wrapped for burial after his death.
5. When the one who intends to perform says the words of Talbiyah, he should bear in mind that this signifies a response to Allah, as it is stated in the Qur’an where says:
“And proclaim the pilgrimage among men: they will come to thee on foot and (mounted) on every kind of camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways.” Suratu Al-Hajj, verse 27.
6. He should hope for his hajj to be accepted and he should fear lack of acceptance of his deeds.
7. Likewise, When he(pilgrim) enters the Haram( the sanctuary of Allah), he should hope to be safe from the punishment of Allah, and should fear not being worthy to approach Him. However, his hope should be uppermost, for Allah’s Generosity is much and comprehensive, the visitor’s right is resected, and protection is secure for all who seek refuge.
Allaahu A’alam! Baarakallaahu feekum!
