Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-
Said:
There are some admonitions to be derived from the activities of the Hajj. Among them are;
On seeing the ka’bah, the pilgrim should be conscious of the Majesty of the House in his heart, expressing his gratitude to Allah for giving him ability to move closer to him. He should also see the greatness of his tawaf, for he is just like he is performing salah.
On running between As-Safa and Al-Marwah, the pilgrim should recall how he will swing between the two scales of the balance at the site of resurrection.
Also, he should demonstrate devotion to Allah and hope to be viewed with compassion because he does not whether Allah will accept his Ibaadah or not.
And on standing at Arafah, the pilgrim should remember the gathering of the creation on the of Resurrection, hearing the loud voices of people with different dilates, aspiring after the intercession and hoping Allah’s mercy.
As for throwing the pebbles, the pilgrim should believe that he is doing that as an obedience and submission to the will of Allah, Most High, and as a way of belittling oneself and rendering complete ibadah to Him.
And lasting, on visiting the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam, the pilgrim should feel the honor and dignity of the Messenger sallallaahu alayhi wasallam in his heart and any time he makes salam at that spot, the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam will surely responds to his salam. This is in accordance with an authentic hadith reported by Abu Hurairah radiyallaahu anhu who said- the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
” ما من أحد يسلم علي إلا رد الله روحي حتى أرد عليه السلام
رواه أبو داود( ٢٠٤١) بإسناد الصحيح.
Meaning:
“Whenever someone makes salam to me, Allah returns the soul to my body (in the grave) and I return his salam.”
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Abu Dawud with an authentic Isnaad.
