Imām Abū ‘Abdullah Muhammad bn Abī Bakr bn Ayyub Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah
said:
The proof of Resurrection is clearly mentioned in the Glorious Qur’an. And these are based on three major Usūl:
(1). Establishing the perfection of the knowledge of Allāh, the Exalted. In this regard, Allāh the Exalted says to those who claimed that:
_…مَن يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٌ_
_…..Who will give life to the bones when they are rotten?_
_قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا الَّذِي أَنشَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ_
_Say: He will give life to them Who brought them into existence at first, and He is cognizant of all creation._
And Allāh, the Exalted says:
_وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ_
_…and verily, the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness._
(2). Establishing the perfection of the power of Allāh Ta’āla. In this context, He says:
_بَلَىٰ قَادِرِينَ عَلَىٰ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ_
_Balā! We are able to make complete his very fingertips_
And He, the Exalted also says:
_ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّهُ يُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ وَأَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ_
_This is because Allāh is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He has power over all things._
Allāh, the Exalted combines these two matters when He says,:
_أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ._
_Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yea! and He is the Creator (of all), the Knower._
Three: the perfection of His wisdom, Allāh says,:
_وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ_
_And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport._
And He, the Exalted says:
_وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ._
_And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire._
And He, the Exalted says:
_أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى_
_Does man think that he is to be left to wander without an aim?_
And He, the Exalted says:
_أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ_
_What! did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us?_
_فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ_
_So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion._
And He, the Exalted says:
_أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ اجْتَرَحُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَوَاءً مَّحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ_
_Nay! do those who have wrought evil deeds think that We will make them like those who believe and do good– that their life and their death shall be equal? Evil it is that they judge._
Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
