Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-
Said:
Al-Hajj and its Adaab.
It is wanted and prescribed for the One who intends to perform Hajj to first make Tawbah to Allah, give back trusts to their rightful owners and repay his debts. He should also prepare sufficient provision for his journey and his family until his return, and meets his expenses by lawful means. It is recommended that he give out sadaqah before going out for Hajj.
He is also recommended to be with righteous men in order to help each other in their journey and they should choose the best person among them to be their leader during their journey so as to set his affairs right.
In addition, The one who performing Hajj should stick to the Islamic good manners in all aspects, give out food to the needy families. He should also pray two rakaat in his home before going out as a farewell to his family.
And he should also say the authentic prophetic supplications that the prophet is reported to have said on his journey and making Hajj.
These prophetic supplications are dealt with in detail in the books of fiqh. Thus, one should refer to them for more information in this regard.
