Knowledge which Benefits.
Oh beloved Son, be mindful not to make your good deeds as though that of the poor person on the Day of Resurrection.
The poor person is the one who would come on the Day of Resurrection with prayers and fasts and Zakāt but he would find himself bankrupt on that day as he would have exhausted his funds of virtues. Also, shun away from heedlessness.
And know that, knowledge without action doesn’t lead to prosperity in this Dunya and the next.
The similitude of such a person is as though a brave man in a close thickest of shrubs and with him are swords and other weapons.
Unfortunately, he was attacked by a lion, what do you think he would do at that spot? Do you think the swords would protect him from the lion without him using the swords on the lion?!
Off course the sword cannot perform its duty except when used. Similarly, if a man were to know hundred verdicts about the Dīn but never practise them, then that will not benefit him for the least.
Another example is that of the sick man who cannot attained treatment except by taking a certain drug.
Hence, hasten to practise what you have acquired of knowledge so that you prosper.
Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
