(Hadith on being very generous in Ramadan)
On the authority of Ibn `Abbas – radiyaAllahu anhu – who said:
The Prophet- salallaahu alayhi wasallam- was the most generous of all the people and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Jibriel – alayhi salaam- visited him, and Jibriel used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month. The Prophet- salallaahu alayhi wasallam- used to recite the Qur’an to him, and when Jibriel-alayhi sallam- met him- salalaahu alayhi wasallam- he used to be more generous than the fast blowing uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds)”
Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
