Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi-rahimahullāh-
Said:
However, if it is said that: there are some Ahādīth which show that one should be pleased with Decree of Allāh Ta’āla, and nothing takes place except with the Decree of Allāh Ta’āla, hating the disobedience necessitates detesting the Decree of Allāh, then how can one reconcile these two situations?
Know, these matters are things that are not clear to those who are not grounded in knowledge so much that they believe keeping silence on munkar is a stage of pleasure with the decree of Allāh Ta’āla and they wrongly claimed these acts of theirs as ‘good manner’, whereas it is a pure ignorance, rather we will say: pleasure and hatred are contradictory if they are found one thing and the same matter.
But, if one love some aspects of a thing and hate the other aspects of the same thing, then they are not at odds.
For instance, for one’s enemy to die who is an enemy to the other enemies of one, thus, one is pleased with his death for being an enemy to one but sad since he his an enemy to the other enemies of one.
Likewise, the disobedience has two aspects: that which is divine since is being decreed by Allāh Ta’āla and the part which is human since is being done willingly by the servant thereby earning the wrath of Allāh Ta’āla and he is blamed and detested in this regard.
