BENEFITS.
Man’s source of power come from two main sources: the theoretical capacity of awareness and the power of willingness to act. And his complete success depends on the perfection of both, i.e the power of awareness and the power or willingness to act.
The perfection of the capacity of awareness comes from knowing His Maker, His attributes, Names and Deeds, and knowing the path which will lead him to Allah Ta’ala and the obstacles involve, and knowing one oneself and its shortcomings; by this, one will attain perfection of the power of awareness, and the most knowledgeable ones are those who thoroughly understand them.
And the perfection of the capacity of willingness to act is not achieved except by carefully observing the rights of Allāh Ta’ala and practicing it with sincerity, truthfulness, advice, kindness, and acknowledging the the blessings and favor of Allāh Ta’ala upon one. And acknowledging one’s laxity regarding the rights of Allāh Ta’ala, feeling shy to meet Allāh with such little deeds; for he knows that such deeds are not up to one tenth of what is expected from him.
And there is no way to perfect these two capacities except with the assistance of His Maker and under His guidance. Thus, one should anxiously desire for Allāh Ta’ala to guide one to the straight path, and to safeguard one from straying from the path; either through one’s imperfection in one’s power of awareness thereby falling into misguidance, or by an imperfection in one’s power of willingness to act thereby incurring the wrath of Allāh Ta’ala upon oneself.
