_Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullāh-_
Said:
*3.* Al-fawāsh and abusiveness.
Engaging in abusing others and spreading Al-fawāsh is blameworthy and disliked.
In a hadith, The messenger sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
_”إياكم والفحش، فإن الله لا يحب الفحش ولا التفحث._”
_”Beware of obscene language, for verily, Allāh doesn’t like obscene language nor abusiveness.”_
Transmitted by Imām Ahmad(2/159). Shaykh Al-Albāni declared it as Sahih in ‘As-sahīhah'(2/539).
In another hadith, the Messenger sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
_ليس المؤمن بالطعان ولا اللعان ولا الفاحش ولا البذيء_
_A believer is neither abusive, nor profane, nor offensive, nor ill-mannered._
Transmitted by Imām At-Tirmidhi in his ‘Sunan'(6/111).
And Know that, the obscene language has to do with speaking about sex or any shameful act in an indecent manner or speaking about it plainly.
And of the calamity of speech is singing.
