Our lives are nothing but a bunch of time. With each passing second is the extinguishing of our lives and our passing into the next world. Consider your life like the hourglass ⏳ which continues to drop until it is exhausted.
When then a person is expected to do something for the Dīn of Allāh and claims he has no time, it is an affront and a despise to the Dīn of Allāh for what are you but a bunch of time? If you had said it isn’t your priority at the moment or you are reluctant to give your time to it, it would make sense..
Know O beloved Brother that the Dīn of Allāh cannot be established nor Islām be given victory by the application of your Leisure Time – the crumps of your time. Few tired hours of your busy Dunyā Day, or the few hours if your Weekends cannot take Islām to the Place of glory and Honour that it occupied in our History. Can’t you see that when you wanted to marry, you invested your energy, time and emotions? Why then do you think that you can give victory to the Dīn of Allāh by being very miserly with your time?
If the crumps and left over of one’s day had any worthiness in bringing the Dīn of Allāh to the fore, then the Dīn of Allāh would have not deserved the Pure life of the Rasūl Salallāhu Alayhi Wasallam and that of the Pure Souls of the Companions and those who threaded their Paths who extinguished their entire lives in it’s Course…
Can’t you see that what stood out our Dīn is the Dedication and submission of the Souls of it’s sons to it’s Cause? Those who think they can be casual with the Dīn of Allāh and yet achieve a thing for it are deceiving themselves but think they are deceiving Allāh. The best of them are the ones who establish Weekend Ta’alimāt in Masjids or between Maghrib and ‘Ishā whereas they spend the whole of the cream of their time to the seeking of sustenance…
Islām would remain constrained to the footnotes of our lives provided it is given the crumps of our time, the left overs of our energy and the attention of our burnt out mental space…
If you find yourself today seeking to work for the Dīn of Allāh, then that you work toward emancipating yourself from the clutches of Sustenance-Seeking that ties and weighs you down is of utmost importance and priority.
May Allāh illumine our hearts, Amīn.
