DAILY POST #110
Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah – said:
It is reported from Ibn Mas’ud radiyallaahu anhu- who said The Messenger of Allah salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
“Stick fast to truth; verily, truth lead to good deeds and good deeds lead to Paradise, and if a man continues to speak the truth and he always seek the truth in everything, he will be recorded as a truthful person with Allah. And beware of falsehood; verily, falsehood leads to bad morals and bad morals leads to Hell, and if a man continues to speak falsehood and he always pursue falsehood in his affairs, he will be recorded as a liar with Allah.”

Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Bukhaari in his “Sahih”#6094 and Imaam Muslim in his “Sahih”#2607.
COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
♦ It shows that adhering to truth leads to good deeds and good deeds lead to Paradise.
♦ It indicates that lies lead to bad morals and bad morals lead to Hell.
♦ It shows that if one continues to speak the truth and makes it his object, he will be recorded as a truthful person before Allah.
♦ It illustrates that if one continues to speak lies and makes it his object, he will be recorded as a liar before Allah.
♦ It encourages saying the truth and avoiding lying in everything.
