Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah – said:
It is reported from Ibn Umar radiyallaahu anhu- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam does not fail to say these words in the morning and in the evening:
اللهم، إني أسألك العافية في ديني ودنياي، وأهلي ومالي، اللهم استر عوراتي، وآمن روعاتي، واحفظني من بين يدي
ومن خلفي، وعن يميني، وعن شمالي، ومن فوقي، وأعوذ بعظمتك أن أغتال من تحتي
Meaning: “Oh Allah! I ask you for well-being in my religious and worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth. O Allah! Cover my secrecy and grant security to my fears, and protect me from before me, and from my behind, from my right and from my left and from above me, And I seek refuge by Your greatness lest I may be swallowed up from my beneath.”
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam An-Nasaa’i in his “Sunan”#7970. Shaykh Al-Albaani declared it as Sahih in “Sahihu Ibn Majar.”
