Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah – said:
It is reported from Abu Hurairah radiyallaahu anhu- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam used to say:
ًًاللهم، أصلح لى ديني الذي هو عصمة أمري، وأصلح لي دنياي التي فيها معاشي، وأصلح لي آخرتي التي إليها معادي، واجعل الحياة زيادة لي في كل خير، واجعل الموت راحة لي من كل شر “أخرجه مسلم “
Allahumma, Aslihli dini Alladhi huwa I’smatu Amri, wa Aslihli dunyaaya Allati fiha maa’shi, wa Aslihli Akhirati Allati ilayha maa’di, waja’lil hayaata ziyaadatan li fikulli khayrin, waja’lil mauta Raahatan li min kulli sharrin.” Akhrajahu Muslim.
Meaning: Oh Allah! Set right for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs. And set right for me the worldly affairs wherein is my living. Set right for me the Hereafter wherein is my return. And make this life for me a source of increase for goodness and make my death a source of comfort to me against every evil.”
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Muslim in his “Sahih”#2720.
