Imaam Al-Awzaa’i – rahimahullaah – said:

“This ILM used to be honourable and glorious when it used to be received by men from the hearts of men. Then when it entered into the books (and people began to take it from books), other than those with the necessary credentials to access and possess it began to delve into it (and it thus became watered).”

O people! Let us learn to take ILM from the Ulamaa who have perfected and went deep into it.
