Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah – said:
It is reported from Khawlah Al-ansariyah radiyallaahu anha- who said The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
“Some men acquire Allah’s Property (such as the funds of the Muslim state treasury, Zakah etc) and they will be admitted into Hell on the Day of Resurrection.
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Bukhaari in his “Sahih”#3118.
COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
♦ It indicates that it is disliked and Haraam(proscribed) for one to take from the baitul Maal (wealth) of the Muslim with out any tangible reason.
♦ It shows that any one that acquires and consumes the funds of the Muslim treasury, his abode will be Hell on the day of resurrection.
♦ It shows that a leader of the Muslim is there only to protect their honour, wealth and dignity. And is not a privilege for him to make himself and his family become rich.
But if he does that, his abode will be the worst place on the day of judgement.
