Desirable Actions In Fasting Part II

DAILY POST #191

“On the authority of Anas b. Mâik -radiyaLLahu anhu – who said that Allah’s Messenger – salallahu alayhi wasalam – used to break his fast with fresh dates before going for salat (magrib). When fresh dates were unavailable, he would break his fast with dried dates. When dried dates were unavailable, he would take a few sips of water”
Sunan Abî Dâwûd

LESSONS FROM THE HADITH

♦ The desirability of hastening to break the fast as soon as Magrib time enters at sunset before going for salat.

♦ The desirability of breaking the fast with wet dates, if not available, then dry dates, if not available, then water.

♦ It is preferred to take an odd number date.

♦ Moderation in eating should be observed.

May Allah purify us and accept our Ibaadah.
Aameen.

Don’t forget us in your Du’a.
