Divisions Of Patience 04

📬 DAILY POST#563

Imām Ibn Qudāmah -rahimahullāh- said:

The Third:

Involuntary issues; like the passing away of the loved ones, and the loss of property, blindness, sickness, and all forms of adversities. For one to endure patience on these tribulations is one of the highest stages because it sprang out from full certainty.

And the Rasūl sallallāhu a’layhi wasallam said:

من يرد الله به خيرا يصب منه

Whenever Allāh intends good for a servant, He inflicts him.

Transmitted by Imām Al-Bukhārī #5645.

And what’s nearer to this category, is for one to be patient on the injuries caused by others, like the one that’s injured by word, action or transgression was made on him or his wealth.

To be patient on the injuries of the people is one of the highest manzilah.

Allāh Ta’āla says:

_وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ_

_..and if you are patient and guard (against evil), surely this is one of the affairs determined upon._

Sūratu Ali- ‘Imrān, verse 186.

_وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ_

_And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say;_

Sūratu Al-Hijr, Verse 97.

_وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصَّابِرِينَ_

_… but if you are patient, it will certainly be best for those who are patient._

Sūratu An-Nahl, Verse 126.

And the Ahādīth regarding the virtues of patience are numerous, amongst them is what was reported in the Sahīhayn from ‘Āishah radiyallāhu anha who said: The Rasūl sallallāhu a’layhi wasallam said:

_No calamity comes to a believer even if it is the pricking of a thorn except that it becomes a means whereby his sins are effaced._

In another Hadīth, the Rasūl sallallāhu a’layhi wasallam said:

_Believing Men and Women still suffer adversities in their bodies, properties and children till they return sinless to Allāh._

Transmitted by Imām Al-Bukhārī in _Al-Adabu Al-Mufrad#494._

And in the Hadīth of Sa’d Ibn Abī Waqqās Radiyallāhu anhu who said: I said:

_Oh the Rasūl of Allāh, who suffers more adversities amongst Human? He replied, “Al-Anbiyā {the prophets}, then the righteous, then the best. Everyone is inflicted in proportion to his faith. If his is firm, his infliction becomes severer and the vice versa. One still suffers adversities till he becomes sinless._

Transmitted by At-Tirmidhī #{7/78}. And Shaykh Al-Albānī declared it as Sahih in _As-sahīhah(143)._

Allāhu A’alam! Bārakallāhu fīkum!
