Du`a when entering the Mosque

📬 DAILY POST#243

Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-
Said:

When he want to enter the mosque, he is recommended to say;

A’oothu billaahil-‘Adheem, wa bi-Wajhihil-Kareem, wa Sultaanihil-qadeem, minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem. Bismillaahi, Wassalaamu ‘alaaRasulillaahi. Allaahum-maftah lee ‘abwaaba rahmatika.

Meaning:

“I seek refuge in Almighty Allah, by His Noble Face, by His primordial power, from Satan the outcast. In the Name of Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, open before me the doors of Your mercy”

Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Muslim in his ‘Sahih’# 1/494.

He is also recommended to pray In the first row of the jama’ah and engage himself in making a lot of Du’a between the Adhan and Iqamah.

After he prays the Fajr prayer, he is recommended to stay in the mosque until sunrise. This is because of the Hadith that was reported by Anas radiyallaahu anhu who said_The Messenger sallallaahu alayhi wasallam said:

” من صلى الفجر في جماعة، ثم قعد يذكر الله تعالى حتى تطلع الشمس، ثم صلى ركعتين، كانت له كأجر حجة وعمرة تامة تامة تامة”

Meaning:

” Whosoever prays the fajr prayer in jama’ah and then stays in the mosque remembering Allah, until the rise of the sun, and then prays two Rakaat will have a reward of Hajj and Umrah perfectly ”

Transmitted and recorded by Imaam At-Tirmidhi in his ‘Sunan’#583. Shaykh Al Albaani declared it as Sahih in ‘Sahihu Al-Jaami’#6346.

During his stay in the mosque, he should divide his time into four section. One for making Du’a, one for making Dhikr, one for reciting the glorious Qur’an and the other for reflecting upon what Allah Has created.

Allaahu A’alam! Baarakallaahu feekum!
