_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
*ADAAB OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COUPLES.*
As for the wife, she is recommended and encouraged by the sharia to put the following Adaab in action:
1. Obeying and pleasing her husband in their relationship. This is because her husband has much rights over her. In this regard, it is reported from Abu Amamah radiyallaahu anhu who said_ I heard the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
_”لو جاز لأحد أن يسجد لأحد لأمرت المرأة أن تسجد لزوجها”_
_” If it were permissible for someone to make sujud to another person, I would have commanded a wife to make sujud to her husband. “_
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam At-Tirmidhi #1169. Shaykh Al Albaani declared it as Sahih in Assahiha(3/202).
2. She should safeguard his honor in his absent.
3. She should be pleased with what the husband provided for her. In this context, it was said that the wives of the past predecessors used to say to their husbands:
_” إياك وكسب الحرام، فإنا نصبر على الجوع، ولا نصبر على النار”_
_”Beware of seeking illegal gains, for we can be patient on hunger but we cannot be patient on Hellfire.”_
4. She should not spend her husband’s resources unnecessarily.
5. She should not leave his house without his permission.
6. She should be sincere and faithful to her husband in all their togetherness.
7. She should not allow anyone into his house without his consent.
8. She should put the rights of her husband over herself and her families.
