_Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullāh-_
Said:
*FORGIVENESS AND KINDNESS.*
Know verily – may the blessing of Allāh be upon you – that, the meaning of forgiveness is for one to overlook the mistakes of others and to give up what one is entitled to of rights, debts or qisās.
In this context, Allāh says:
_And pardon people; and Allah loves the doers of good (to others)._
*Suratu Al-i’mrān, verse 134.*
_But whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust._
*Suratu Ash-shura, verse 40.*
And also, it is reported from Abu Hurairah radiyallāhu anhu who said: The Messenger sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
_Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives Allah adds to his respect, and the one who shows humility to Allah, Allāh will surely elevate him in status._

In another hadith, which is reported from ‘Āisha radiyallāhu anha, the Messenger of Allāh(ﷺ) said:
_verily Allah is kind and He loves kindness and gives upon kindness which he does not confer upon severity and does not confer upon anything else besides it._
