_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
*GOOD RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COUPLE.*
Know verily that, some qualities are highly recommended to be considered in a woman before marriage.
Amongst these qualities are;
1. Her *religion*.
This is the first condition to be considered because it is the foundation.
In this context, it is reported from Jaabir radiyallaahu anhu who said_ The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
_” عليك بذات الدين”_
_Marry a woman that is sound in her religion “_
If she happens not to be sound in her deen, she will definitely affect the religion of her husband and spoil his life. And if she is also highly jealous, the husband will not seize to always be in a mad condition.
2. Good *Behavior.*
If she has bad character, there is no doubt that, she will cause more problem to the husband than good.
3. The woman should be *Beautiful* to her suitor.
The beauty and the structure of a woman is also considered before marriage. For it is with it that the husband will be safeguarded from looking at other women. And it is for this reason that a man has been commanded in the sharia to look at the face of the woman he wish to marry before marriage.
However, there are some people who do not consider the beauty or structure of a woman before they engage in the marriage, for her appearance is insignificant to them.
In this regard, it is reported that Imaam Ahmad Rahimahullahu married a one eyed woman rather than her sister who is more beautiful than her.
But we should know that, this is not common and the opposite is closer to the nature of a man.
