Gratitude with Heart, Tongue and Organs

📬 DAILY POST#570

Imām Ibn Qudāmah -rahimahullāh- said:

Gratitude with Heart, Tongue and Organs.

Gratitude is done with the heart, tongue, and organs.

As for the heart, it’s for one to wish good to others. As for the tongue, is for one to show gratitude to Allāh by glorifying and praising Him. As for the organs, is for one to use them in the obedience of Allāh, not in disobeying Him.

Of the gratitude of the sights, is for one to hide the shortcomings of a Muslim when noticed, and of the gratitude of the hearing, is for one not to listen to that which are Harām.

Gratitude with the tongue is for one to express his pleasure with Allāh.

It was reported that a man made Salam to ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattāb radiyallāhu anhu, then ‘Umar answered his salam and said to him: How are you today? He said: Alhamdulillāh, ‘Umar then said: that’s what I want and you have answered my question.

The pious Salaf used to ask themselves their various conditions, and their aim for that is to express the gratitude of Allāh.

Allāhu A’alam! Bārakallāhu fīkum!
