Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi-rahimahullāh-
Said:
Hell( May Allāh save us From it!)
It is reported from Abū Hurairah Radiyallāhu anhu who said:
We were in the company of the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam that we heard a terrible sound. Thereupon the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam said: Do you know what sound is this? We said: Allāh and His Messenger knows best. Thereupon He said: That’s a stone which was thrown seventy years before now in Hell and it has been constantly slipping down and now it has reached its base.

In the Sahīhayn, from Abī Hurairah Radiyallāhu anhu who said: The Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam said:
Your fire is one of seventy parts of the Hell Fire. They said: O Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam, this Fire would have been sufficient ( to torture the unbelievers). The Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam said: The Hell has sixty nine parts more than the worldly fire, each part is as hot as this worldly fire.

In the Sahīh Muslim, from the Hadīth of Ibn Mas’ūd Radiyallāhu anhu who said: the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam said:
Hell will be brought having seventy thousand reins, each rein will held by seventy thousand angels.

Lastly, know that, Fire is unspeakable. The little we mentioned is enough to instill fear into the heart of a believer. Thus, you should be aware of it and fear Allāh in this Dunya so that you will be saved on the Day of Resurrection.
By fear, we don’t mean shedding tears for a while and not engaging on good deeds. Rather, we refer to a fear that prevents one from sins and pushes one to obedience.
As for the fear of the foolish one who just listen to sermon while saying: may Allāh keep me safe, I seek refuge in Allāh, but still insist on sinning. Verily, it is shaitān that is deceiving him had he known.
