Intention and Its Virtue.
Allāh Ta’āla says:
وَلَا تَطْرُدِ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ
And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, they desire only His favor;
Sūratu Al-an’ām, Verse 52.
It is reported from ‘Umar Ibn Khattāb Radiyallāhu anhu who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam saying:
The reward of deeds depends on the intentions, so whoever emigrated for the worldly benefits or to marry a woman, his emigration was for that for which which he emigrated, but whoever emigrated for the Sake of Allāh and His Messenger, his emigration is for Allāh and His Messenger.

And it is narrated from Abū Mūsā who said:
A man came to the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam and asked: O the Messenger of Allāh! What kind of fighting is in the cause of Allāh? ( I ask this), for some of us fight because of being enraged and angry and some for the sake of his pride and haughtiness. The Rasūl raised his head and said: He who fights so that the word of Allāh should be superior, then he fights in the cause of Allāh.

From Jābir Radiyallāhu anhu who said: the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam said:
We were with the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam on an expedition. He said: There are some people in Madīnah. They are with you whenever you cover a distance or cross a valley. They have been detained by illness.

In the Sahīhayn from the Hadīth of Ibn ‘Abbās Radiyallāhu anhu who said: The Rasūl Salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
Whoever intends to do a good deed and he doesn’t do it, then Allāh will write for him a full good deed.
