Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi-rahimahullāh-
Said:
Know that, the delight obtained from knowledge of Allāh in the heart is supreme as against those felt by the five sense organs, having deep insight is beloved to the intelligent person than the apparent delights.
Also, the delight gotten from the knowledge of Allāh is greater than that of the authority, and this cannot be ascertained except by the one who has experienced both delights, for no doubt, such person would prefer devotion to Allāh, seclusion, contemplation and Zikr, and diving into the ocean of knowledge, and he would surely give up love of leadership since he knows that such position is not eternal and it is mixed with grieves and sorrows.
In addition, the knowledge of Allāh, His attributes and Actions become glorified in his sight because it is free from grieves and worries, enough space to accommodate all seekers.
And the seeker of knowledge of Allāh with sincerity is about to be in Jannah, the extensiveness of which is as the heavens and the earth, enjoying in it, eating its fruits, and he has no anxieties feel since it is a life of eternity.
The ‘Ārifūn are of the different stages in the sight of Allāh, and this deep knowledge cannot be comprehended except through experience.
Thus, from this, one will understand that knowledge of Allāh is the sweetest and the supreme delight one should compete for.
