عن سهل رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:”إن في الجنة بابا يقال له الريان يدخل منه الصائمون يوم القيامة لا يدخل منه أحد غيرهم يقال أين الصائمون فيقومون لا يدخل منه أحد غيرهم فإذا دخلوا أغلق فلم يدخل منه أحد
رواه البخاري
On the authority of Sahl -radiyaLLahu anhu who reported that the prophet- salallahu alayhi wasallam said:
“Indeed, there is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyaan, On the Day of Resurrection, those who fasted will enter ( Paradise through) it and none except them will enter. It will be said, ‘Where are those who used to fast?’ They will arise and none except them will enter it. After their entry, the gate will be closed and none will enter from it.”
Al-Bukhari.
LESSONS FROM THE HADITH.
♦ Allah the most exalted is giving those who fast the glad tidings of admittance into Jannah (paradise) on the day of Judgement.
♦ Allah honoured fasting with a specific gate out of the eight gates of Jannah and just for it’s people.
♦ Allah will honour the believers who are used to fasting on the day of judgement by calling them in honour to enter Jannah through Ar-Rayyaan (gate).
♦ “Ar-RAYYAAN” means thirst quencher and from another narration of the hadith, whenever the believer drinks the water at Rayyaan gate, he will never suffer thirst again as a compensation for the one suffered during fasting.
May Allah count us among those He would honour with Ar-Rayyan and may He grant us Firdaus. Aameen.
