Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh!
You are all welcome to this session of today’s halqah.
May Allāh assist us, make it beneficial to us and may He make it amongst our good deeds on the Day of Qiyāmah,
Āmīn thumma Āmīn.
Alhamdulillāhi, in the last session of our halqah, we were able to discuss little about the Akhkām of the blessed month of Ramadān.
Today, in shā Allāh we shall discuss about the *bounties* of the month of Ramadān.
Know verily, may Allāh shower His blessings upon you that, the virtues of the month of Ramadān can never be over emphasized.
Ramadān is the month of the Qur’an, the month of sacrifice, the month of blessings.
The month in which good deeds are multiplied into manifolds.
Because of the blessings of this month, on the first night, Shaitan and the rebellious jin are restrained.
In this Context, the Messenger salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
_إذا كان أول ليلة من رمضان صفدت الشياطين ، ومردة الجن، وغلقت أبواب النار ، فلم يفتح منها باب ، وفتحت أبواب الجنان فلم يغلق منها باب ، ونادى مناد يا باغي الخير أقبل ، ويا باغي الشر أقصر ، ولله عتقاء من النار و ذالك كل ليلة._
_On the first night of Ramadan, Satans and rebellious jinn are restrained, the gates of hell are closed, not a single gate is left open and the gates of paradise are open, not a single one of them is closed and caller calls out saying, ‘O seeker of good, come forth (with your good), and O seeker of evil, restrain yourself.’ Allah has people he frees from hell fire and that is every night (of Ramadan)._

Reported by Al-Tirmidhi.

Amongst the lessons of the above Hadīth are:
1. The numerous bounties of this month starts from it’s very first night.
2. One can easily get reformed and reach a high spiritual level since the rebellious jinns and Shayaateen (Satans) are chained by Allah in this month.
3. All the gates of Jannah are opened in this month as a motivation for us to work for it through pious deeds and at the same time all the gates of Jahannam (Hell fire) are closed as a refrain for us from doing wrong, evil and shameful deeds.
4. We are enjoined to always be determined, persistent and improve in doing good (seeking Allah’s pleasure), and also cautioned to refrain ourselves from anything other than good.
5. Allāh in His infinite Mercy frees people from hell fire every night in this blessed month of Ramadan so lets intensify Du’a for our dead ones.
That said. Oh beloved brothers and sisters, hasten to reform your spiritual level in this blessed month and cleanse your heart from its flaws.
Do not allow the luxuries of this worldly life to distract you from utilizing your time fully to increase your status in the sight of Allāh.
Be keen to maximize your time fully towards goodness.
Do not relax nor relent. Rather, sacrifice your today for tomorrow which is the Day of Judgement. Remember, the fasting is just for *30days* not 30 months
Hasten to be amongst the successful ones. These are people who are willing to overlook temporary amusement and make sacrifices in this short time of the dunya so that they may prosper and attain an everlasting enjoyment.
Moreover, regarding the bounties of this blessed month of Ramadān, the Messenger salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam also said:

_الصَّلَوَاتُ الْخَمْسُ وَالْجُمُعَةُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ وَرَمَضَانُ إِلَى رَمَضَانَ مُكَفِّرَاتٌ مَا بَيْنَهُنَّ إِذَا اجْتَنَبَ الْكَبَائِرَ._

_The five daily prayers, from one Jumuah to the next Jumuah, from Ramadan to the next Ramadan, are an expiation for what takes place between them (of sins), as long as the major sins are kept away from._

Transmitted by Imām Muslim.

This hadīth shows that

1.A believer is forgiven of his minor sins from one salat to another daily, from one Jumuah to another weekly and from one Ramadān to another yearly.

2. A believer should always distance him/herself from the major sins.

3. Major sins requires active repentance from Allāh subhānahu wa ta’āla (following all it’s necessary conditions).

May Allāh grant us His forgiveness, accept our Ramadān and count us amongst the souls emancipated from hell in this blessed month, Aameen.

In shā Allāh, we shall stop here for today.

Barakallāhu fikum

Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
