_Imām Ibn Qudāmah -rahimahullāh-_
Said:
Know verily that, there are three elements which can be used as protections from falling into deceptions:
*1).A sound mind.*
It is the main foundation which guides one toward understanding the realities of things in their proper shapes.
2). *Knowing oneself, one’s lord, the nature of this worldly life and the Hereafter.*
If one is able to attain this knowledge in its true meanings, the heart is overwhelmed with the love of Allāh Ta’āla, hasten for Hereafter, and it shun away from dunya and its luxuries. Thus, pleasing Allāh becomes it’s main objective and what has to do with the Hereafter.
By so doing, the intentions are purified for every action, and that will push away any deception that may come on its way.
3). *Knowledge.*
This is knowing the path to Allāh and the obstacles on the journey, and knowing that which moves and guides one toward Allāh.
Lastly, one is highly recommended to fear for oneself from been deceived by shaitān through calling one towards the love of leadership. And also, one should never feel secure from the plans of Allāh Ta’āla, because none feels secure from His plan except the perished ones. For this reason, it was said: The sincere servants are always in great danger. Thus, it is never befitting for the Awliya of Allah to feel secured from His plans.
We Ask Allāh to protect us from deceptions, and we pray for a good end, for He is Near and Answering.
And with this, we have reached the end of the chapter discussing about fallacies and bad morals. And we shall talk about ways to protect oneself from these destructive vices in our next posts.
Allāhu A’alam! Bārakallāhu fīkum!
