Select a Mentor.
Oh beloved Son, you should have known from what we explained that you don’t need unprofitable knowledge. However, on the path to Allāh Ta’āla, you require a Shaykh, mentor, educator, so that he may assist you in getting rid of your bad characters through Tarbiyah and installing in you good attitude.
The similitude of an educator or a Shaykh is as though a farmer who clears off his farm of Thorn, foreign plants from the main plant so that the plant may have enough nutrients to germinate properly.
Thus, you need a Shaykh that will educate and guide you to the path of Allāh Ta’āla. For Allāh Has sent down Messengers to His servants so that they may purify and guide them to His path. And when the Rasūl Salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam passed away, the khalafāh Radiyallāhu anhum played his role in guiding others to the path of Allāh Ta’āla.
Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
12th Ramadhān, 1441H.
