Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi-rahimahullāh-
Said:
Some Narrated statements about the Salaf On their deathbed.
When Al-Hasan bn ‘Aliyy Radiyallāhu anhu was about to pass away, he said to people: take me out to the compound of the house. Then He said: Oh Allāh, I trust myself in you.
And it was reported that when Mu’ādh bn Jabal was about to die, he said: look if the day has broken? They said: no, but latter it was said to him: it is morning. Then He said: I seek refuge in Allāh from a night whose morning leads to Hell. Welcome oh death, the hidden visitor. Oh Allāh, I used to fear you, but now I love to meet You. Oh Allāh, You know that I never loved this Dunya except to fast on an extremely hot days, praying at night in winter, and mingling with scholars for ‘Ilm.
And Abū Muslim said:
I visited Abā Ad-Darda on his deathbed while he was saying: would you get prepared for this day? Would you get prepared for this hour? Then He died Rahimahullāhu.
It was reported that Salmān Al-Fārisī wept on his deathbed, it was said to him: why do you cry? He replied:
The Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam Has commanded us to have provision for our journey like that of a traveller.
Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
