(Hadith on the supplication to make during laylatul Qadr)
عن عاءشة- رضي الله عنها- قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه،ِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِن عَلِمْتُ أَيَّ لَيْلَةٍ لَيْلَةُ القَدْرِ مَاأَقُولُ فِيهَا؟ قَالَ:
“قُولي: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ العفْوَ فاعْفُ عنِّي” رواهُ التِرْمذيُّ وقال: حديثٌ حسنٌ صحيحٌ.
‘On the authority of Aishah -May Allah be pleased with her- who said; I asked: “O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Laylatul Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?” He -sallalaahu alayhi wasallam- replied, “You should supplicate: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).”

LESSONS FROM THE HADITH
1. Laylat-ul- Qadr is a special bounty of Allah on this Ummah.
2. Every Muslim should aim at getting the bounties of laylatul Qadr.
3. By increasing ones act of Ibaadah especially (qiyamul layl) in the last ten night of Ramadan.
4. One should frequently make the supplication above on every night of the last ten days of Ramadan especially the odd number nights.
May Allah grant us the bounties and blessings of Ramadan and laylat-ul-Qadr, Aameen.
