_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
_The Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam used to allow the companions to ride behind him because of his kindness towards them.
In this regard, usāmah Ibn Zaid radiyallāhu anhumah narrated that the Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam rode a donkey saddled with a saddle covered with a Fadakiyya velvet sheet, and he made me ride behind him.”
Transmitted and recorded by Imām Al-Bukhārī in his ”Sahih’ #5964.
_The Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam doesn’t eat sadaqah.
In this context, it is reported from Abu Hurairah radiyallāhu anhu who said:
_”Whenever a meal was brought to Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam he would ask whether it was a gift or Sadaqa. If he was told that it was Sadaqa, he would tell his companions to eat it, but if it was a gift, he would hurry to share it with them.”_
Transmitted and recorded by Imām Al-Bukhārī in his ‘Sahih’ #2576.
_ The Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam could not find an inferior form of dates which he could fill his belly with.
In this, AN-Nu’man Ibn Bashīr radiyallāhu anhu said:
_”Don’t you eat and drink according to your heart’s desire? For I saw that your Prophet sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam (at times) could not find even an inferior quality of the dates with which he could fill his belly. Qutaiba, however, did not make a mention of It.”_
Transmitted and recorded by Imām Muslim in his ‘Sahih’#2977.
