Imām Ibn Qudāmah Al-Maqdisi-rahimahullāh-
Said:
The Death of Uthmān bn ‘Affān Radiyallāhu anhu.
It was reported from Nāilah Al-Farāfisah -the wife of Uthmān Radiyallāhu anhu – who said:
Before the day Uthmān Radiyallāhu anhu was killed, he fasted the day. On his break of the fast, he requested for water, but didn’t give him the water, then he slept without breaking his fast. Before the time of Sahur, some women brought jars filled with water, I asked them for fresh water and they gave me a cup of it. I went to him and awakened him, I then said: this is the fresh water.
However, he looked towards the sky and noticed that is almost time for Fajr, so he said, I am fasting.
Then he said. I saw the Rasūl Salallāhu alayhi wasallam tonight in the dream with a fresh water, then he said:
Drink Oh Uthmān! So I drank till I quenched my thirst, then he said: Drink more and more, then he said: Verily, the people will revolt against you, if you fight them, you will defeat them, But if you leave them, you will break your fast with us in heavens.
Then later, they entered into the house and killed him(Radiyallāhu anhu).
Allāhu A’alām.
Bārakallāhu fīkum.
Jazākumullahu Khayran.
