Imām Ibn Qudāmah -rahimahullāh- said:
The Deeds that are Recommended for the One Repenting.
And indeed, we have mentioned in our last post that, it is highly beloved and recommended for the Repenter to engage himself in good acts in order to replace, cleanse and serve as kaffara for his flaws.
The good deeds should be executed in all angles, that is, with his heart, tongue and organs.
That of the heart is to be humble to Allāh, while for the tongue, is to acknowledge the oppression and to hasten for forgiveness, like saying: Oh Allāh, indeed I have oppressed myself, thus, I seek forgiveness from You.
In this sphere, it is recorded in a Hadīth transmitted by the two polymath Imams; Imām At-tirmidhī and Imām Ibn Mājah in their Sunan that the Prophet Salallāhu ālayhi wasallam said:
_ﻣﺎ ﻣﻦ ﺭﺟﻞ ﻳﺬﻧﺐ ﺫﻧﺒًﺎ، ﺛﻢ ﻳﻘﻮﻡ ﻓﻴﺘﻄﻬﺮ، ﻓﻴﺤﺴﻦ ﺍﻟﻄﻬﻮﺭ، ﺛﻢ ﻳﺴﺘﻐﻔﺮ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﺰَّ ﻭﺟﻞّ ﺇﻻ ﻏﻔﺮ ﻟﻪ » ، ﺛﻢ ﺗﻼ : } ﻭَﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳﻦَ ﺇِﺫَﺍ ﻓَﻌَﻠُﻮﺍْ ﻓَﺎﺣِﺸَﺔً { [ ﺁﻝ ﻋﻤﺮﺍﻥ._
_There is not a man who commits a sin and then purifies himself, stands and prays two raka’āt and then asks Allāh for forgiveness except that Allāh will forgive him. Then He recited this verse:_
_And those who when they commit an indecency or do injustice to their souls remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their faults– and who forgives the faults but Allah, and (who) do not knowingly persist in what they have done._
Sūratu Al- ‘Imrān, Verse 135.
As for the organs, then it is by obedience, sadaqāt, and all forms of ”Ibādāt.
Allāhu A’alam! Bārakallāhu fīkum!
