_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
*THE DESTRUCTIVE VICES WITHIN THE HEART.*
Know verily that, may the blessing of Allāh Ta’āla be upon you, the heart is the most honorable and specious parts of the body, for it is the house of knowledge and wisdom for those that possess the knowledge of Allāh and it is the gear that pushes one close to Allāh, while the joints only follows the heart and serves its purposes. Thus, the joints serves the heart like a servant to his master.
Therefore, whosoever struggle to rectify the shortcomings of his heart, will attain acceptance in the side of Allāh. However, most people are ignorant and they don’t bother much regarding the diseases of their heart and ways of rectification of its vices.
Thus, the knowledge of the heart and its attributes are of the foundations of the deen, and the main pillar for the travellers towards Allāh.
