Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-
Said:
*The optimum nights and days for good deeds.*
Know verily that, the most virtuous nights in which a murid(devout slave of Allah) is beloved to increase good deeds therein and to also use the nights for Qiyam Al-Layl are fifteen in number.
Among these nights, seven of them are found in Ramadan. Which are:
17th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 29th Ramadan.
The remaining eight of the nights are found in other months. They are;
1st, and 10th of Muharram,
1st, and 15th of Rajab,
15th of sha’ban,
9th of Dhul-Hijjah,
1st of Shawwal, and 10th of Dhul-Hijjah.
As for the most virtuous days, they are are seventeen in number.
These days are as follows:
-the day of Arafah(9th of Dhul-Hijjah)
– the day of Ashura'(10th of Muharram),
– 27th of Rajab,
– 17th of Ramadan,
– 15th of sha’ban,
– fridays,
– ‘Idul-fitr( 1st of Shawwal),
– Idul-Adha(10th of Dhul-Hijjah),
-the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah,
– the days of Tashriq(11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah)
– Mondays,
-Thursdays, and
– 11th, 12th, and 13th of every month.
