_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
*THE RIGHTS OF A MUSLIM.*
Know verily that, shunning a brother for over three nights is highly discouraged and forbidden. However, that has to do with the worldly affairs such as dispute and misunderstanding between Muslims. As for what has to with the deen, for one to shun a Muslim brother because of his bidí, sins and his following of desires for sometimes is a thing that is recommended and encouraged in the sharia. This is done so that the brother can make sincere tawbah and return to the right path.
Amongst the rights of a Muslim, is for one to behave good to him. And one should not enter into his residence without his permission.
In addition, one should honor the elderly ones amongst the Muslims and one should feel sympathy to the young ones. Also, one should hasten to settle dispute between Muslims and one should cover their secret. Of it, one should be soft, gentle and not harsh to the beloved Muslims except where harshness is needed.
Lastly, one should be extremely careful not to fall in matters of doubt or to put oneself in a situation where it could be a cause of doubt and suspicion in others minds.
