_Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi -rahimahullaah-_
Said:
_The Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam does joke at times. However, He doesn’t say except what is true in his joke. This is in accordance to a hadith transmitted by Imām At-Tirmidhi in his ‘Sunan’#6/126 from the hadith of Abī Hurairah radiyallāhu anhu and Imām At-Tirmidhi declared the hadith as Hasan, and Imām Al-Bukhārī in ‘Al-Adabu Al-Mufrad’265 and Shaykh Al-Albānī declared it as Sahih in ‘Assahīhah’#1726.
_The Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam doesn’t laugh boisterously. Rather, He only smile. Imām At-Tirmidhi transmitted a hadith in accordance to this in his ‘Sunan’#10/125 from the hadith of ‘Abdullāh Ibn Al-Hārith radiyallāhu anhu and Shaykh Al-Albāni declared it as Sahih in ‘Mukhtasar Ash-shamāil Al-Muhammadiyyah'(pg:121).
_The Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam doesn’t spend His time except on the path of Allāh Azzawajal, And He has never abuse a servant nor a woman, and He has never beat anyone with his hand, except that which has to with the Jihād on the path of Allāh, and He never took revenge for himself except when the limits of Allāh are transgressed. In this context, ‘Aishah says:
_”ﻋَﻦْ ﻋَﺎﺋِﺸَﺔَ، ﻗَﺎﻟَﺖْ ﻣَﺎ ﺿَﺮَﺏَ ﺭَﺳُﻮﻝُ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ﺷَﻴْﺌًﺎ ﻗَﻂُّ ﺑِﻴَﺪِﻩِ ﻭَﻻَ ﺍﻣْﺮَﺃَﺓً ﻭَﻻَ ﺧَﺎﺩِﻣًﺎ ﺇِﻻَّ ﺃَﻥْ ﻳُﺠَﺎﻫِﺪَ ﻓِﻲ ﺳَﺒِﻴﻞِ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﻧِﻴﻞَ ﻣِﻨْﻪُ ﺷَﻰْﺀٌ ﻗَﻂُّ ﻓَﻴَﻨْﺘَﻘِﻢَ ﻣِﻦْ ﺻَﺎﺣِﺒِﻪِ ﺇِﻻَّ ﺃَﻥْ ﻳُﻨْﺘَﻬَﻚَ ﺷَﻰْﺀٌ ﻣِﻦْ ﻣَﺤَﺎﺭِﻡِ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﻓَﻴَﻨْﺘَﻘِﻢَ ﻟِﻠَّﻪِ ﻋَﺰَّ ﻭَﺟَﻞَّ._”
‘A’isha radiyallāhu anha reported that the Messenger of Allāh sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam never beat anyone with his hand, neither a woman nor a servant, except in the case of fighting in the cause of Allah and he never took revenge for anything except when the hurumāt of Allāh are transgressed; He then took revenge for Allah, Azzawajal.
