“Fasting and Qur’an will intercede for the servant (of Allah) on the Day of Resurrection; Fasting will say: ‘My Lord I prevented him from his food and fulfilling his desires (in the day time) so allow me to be his intercessor; the Qur’an will say: I prevented him from sleeping at night, allow me to be his intercessor; they will both be granted the permission to intercede”
LESSONS FROM THE HADITH
♦ Among the virtues of fasting and reciting the Qur’an is that they will both be granted the permission to intercede on behalf of the true believer on the Last Day.
♦ Fasting and Recitation of the Qur’an has a very close connection out of the wisdom of Allah the exalted. There the fasting person is expected to have the closest connection to the Qur’an especially during the night.
♦ Only Allah, the exalted can grant the permission of intercession on the Day of Judgement.
♦ There is nothing one abandons in this world for the sake of Allah except that He would replace it with something much better.
May Allah count us among those He would grant the intercession of the Qur’an and Fasting on the Day of Qiyamah. Aameen.
Don’t forget us in your du’a.
